A New U.S. Passport in 2028? Will It Change Your Travel Plans?

Well, ladies, here’s a travel headline I certainly wasn’t expecting!
According to a recent Forbes article, the United States is preparing to introduce a redesigned passport in 2028, and the version previewed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio features an image of President Donald Trump on the inside cover.
Although the State Department hasn’t officially confirmed whether his image will appear in the final version, the possibility is already creating conversation.
But here’s my question: Could this actually change how Americans travel?
The redesign itself won’t prevent Americans from traveling internationally. Current passports will remain valid until they expire, and there’s no announced change to international travel eligibility because of the artwork.
However, travel isn’t always just about where we can go. Sometimes it’s about our personal choices and what we’re comfortable with.
As for me? If this design becomes permanent, I may be keeping my adventures domestic for a while! And trust me, there are plenty of beautiful places right here in the United States waiting to be explored.
But I want to hear from YOU!
Would having President Trump’s image inside your passport influence your decision to renew it or travel internationally?
Would you continue collecting international passport stamps, renew before the redesign, or consider more domestic getaways?
There’s no right or wrong answer. I’m genuinely curious how this news might influence your future travel plans.
Let’s talk about it in the comments! 👇🏾
